Job Summary:

Tareen Dermatology is hiring for a full-time Dispensary Technician. We are a growing physician-owned Dermatology practice located in the Twin Cities Metro. 

Job Responsibilities: 

? Receive prescriptions from Tareen Dermatology providers. Capture appropriate patient information.

? Process electronic and written prescriptions quickly and accurately. This includes new and refill prescriptions. 

? Assist in preparation and dispensing of medications, including insurance adjudication, counting, labeling, and selling. Complete basic tasks without the review of others. 

? Resolve insurance issues, including step therapy, prior authorizations, and drug utilization review per department policy.

? Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the computer system.

? Complete special orders or projects to meet customer needs.

? Respond to internal and external customer and employee inquiries in a professional and customer-focused manner. 

? Take inbound calls and make outbound calls as needed.

? Handle cash register transactions accurately.

? Performs administrative duties as assigned.

? Assist in inventory control duties as assigned.

? Other duties as assigned. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a clinic setting.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk, hear and smell. The employee must be able to sit for 90% of the workday. The employee must be able to lift or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
